Progressive Christmas Eve

In year’s past, our family tradition has been to go to church then go out to eat with my parents and my brothers and their families. Last year, Ken came up with another idea — the progressive Christmas Eve. This year it has become a reality. Since it is so hard to have a conversation in a restaurant, our first course will be at Darren and Cheri’s co-hosted by David and Nancy. Each location will have food and an activity designed to keep the children occupied. Course two will be at my parents’ house and dessert will be at our house. Our offerings? Fudge (bought, not homemade), pumpkin pie (courtesy of Ken and Jocelyn), a birthday cake for Jesus (courtesy of Betty Crocker but I did at least mix it up and stick it in the oven), and sugar cookies (which will be decorated by the children as their activity). Oh yeah, the cookies are courtesy of Betty Crocker as well, 2/$3.00 with a $.50 off coupon!! At least I did roll out the dough and used my cookie cutters to make shapes with them. . .
