nonteaching duty days! I had one on Friday since it was the end of the first nine weeks. These days are different than inservice days, which usually consist of meetings. No, nonteaching duty days mean we show up at our school and we can do whatever we need to do, whether it be grading, doing grade cards, analyzing data, cleaning out our closet, etc.
I spent the morning finishing my grading so I could do my grade cards. I then worked on a new seating chart, passing back all the papers, prepping for parent/teacher conferences in a couple of weeks, and putting up my fall decor on the door. I only had one small meeting for a committee that I’m on but that only lasted 20 minutes. It feels really good to have finished my grade cards and I’m ready for the start of a new 9 weeks!
But first I have an inservice day — tomorrow! Which will consist of meetings at the school in the morning and meetings for the district in the afternoon. Ahhhh, the life of a teacher!
